2018 Fiat Fullback Review, Release Date

The 2018 Fiat Fullback is coming soon in showrooms around the word. Fiat is not really a top player in the highly competitive pickup truck segment but the Italian origin carmaker has also dabbled into this segment. The Fullback is a new contender in this sector and it has many resemblances with the Mitsubishi L200. For 2018, The Fullback is getting a revamp.

The 2018 Fiat Fullback has an enticing style. The exterior has a nice mix of curvature and sharp crease lines. The design is aerodynamic and lamps are wraparound which adds to the sleekness of the design. There are two trims –SX and LX.

The side steps, LED lamps with DRL and large alloy wheels add to its aesthetic appeal. Exterior colors include pastel and metallic shades like red, white, titanium grey, Impulse Blue etc. Using high-strength lightweight steel has enabled Fiat to keep the weight within limits.

The cabin of new Fiat Fullback looks both stylish and elegant. The dashboard looks neat and devoid of clutter, to begin with. The cabin is spacious and seats come well cushioned to ensure long tours are comfortable.

The 2018 Fiat Fullback gets nice engine options. A 2.4-liter Diesel engine is standard on SX trim which makes 150 hp. This is mated with a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox. You can also go for the beefier 2.4-liter Diesel engine that generates a healthy 180 hp. It can be paired with AWD and 5-speed automatic transmission gearbox.  All the engines are Euro 6 compliant. To tackle tough terrains, there is 4×4 traction system with 3 modes. Automatic start and stop technology that is embedded into the powertrain helps save fuel. Towing capacity is 3.1 tonnes max.

In addition, the 2018 Fiat Fullback is laden with a decent set of amenities and safety technologies. The SX trim gets features like Cruise Control, Bluetooth, Keyless entry, Adjustable driver’s seat, Leather Steering Wheel, fog lights, Hill Start Assist, Trailer Stability Assist and ESC with ABS.

The LX trim comes with plenty of additional features. These are 17” alloy wheels, Privacy Glass, chrome exterior accents, Touchscreen DAB Radio, Bi-Xenon Headlights, Dual-zone automatic climate control, Leather Interior, Heated Seats, Rain and dusk sensor and Lane Departure Warning.

There are a few customization options available for buyers of new Fiat Fullback. These are chromed sports bar, hardened rear top with side windows. Also, the latter gives the truck a decidedly SUV-like look. It also gets a separate roof rail.

In conclusion, the starting price of Fiat Fullback 2018 is £26,683. It is going to be made available for sale in late 2017 though the exact release date is unknown. Finally, the 2018  Fullback is a decent midsized pickup truck that will appeal more to the buyers with a penchant for stylish pickups with occasional off-roading needs.

It scores well in styling and amenities provided is decent. However, some of the advanced safety features are not available in even in the top trim. It will face competition from rivals like the new Nissan Navara and VW Amarok.
